MY HEART TO JOY is part of the Connecticut sound trifecta, and the last of them to leave for tour this summer. On Wednesday, they bring you a night of friends and acquaintances, including DEADLIGHTS (who just released a split with Don't Say I Won't on New Haven's Audubon Records) and CONNECTICUT, which is just a heavier mash-up of the MHTJ lineup with more gang vocals and state solidarity ("No matter where I go, I feel it call my name/it might be Wallingford or some distant place"). They're releasing their demo tonight.

Download the demo here. Listen to 'Intro/The Motherland'.

Two acts affiliated with the Run for Cover roster-- BALANCE & COMPOSURE and MAN OVERBOARD-- are also playing, which is notable considering Tigers Jaw, another RFC band, has seemingly dropped off of every local show they've been placed on in Connecticut since their last show at the Legion. Balance & Composure just released an incredible split with Tigers Jaw, actually. Their side is really strong, carrying a lot of the same poppier elements in the rest of this show's bill, but with a darker undertone to some of their stuff that reminds me a little of Brand New.

Listen to 'Twenty Four' off the split.
